DSV Continues to Receive Requests to Implement MyDrives
With offices in more than 80 countries and over 25 locations in the Netherlands, DSV is a Danish-origin organization providing global transport and logistics services, ranging from road transport to air and sea freight. Walter de Wilde is HR Director of DSV Netherlands, where 3,650 employees are active. Almost three years ago, he was introduced to MyDrives and the seven-color theory underlying it.
A Useful and Attractive Tool
Walter: “Before that, following instructions from our Danish headquarters, we also worked in the Netherlands with a UK company that provided our selection assessments. That collaboration went well and continues to do so. Nevertheless, our HR department needed a tool that would deepen the recruitment process, further support employees, and enhance team development. That tool became MyDrives. The color profiles MyDrives creates for individual employees and teams are both practical and appealing tools to improve team collaboration and, consequently, our performance.”
“We needed a tool that would provide more depth. Now our HR department is even more recognized within DSV as a positively engaged team.”
In-company Training
Max Stultiens, managing partner of MyDrives MyHabits MyMatch: “Including Walter, 18 HR employees participated in the three-day MyDrives certification during an in-company training. This means they can now internally deliver MyDrives workshops as certified consultants.”
Walter: “It’s great to do this. On one hand, the color profiles help you ask the right questions and understand which roles suit specific qualities. On the other hand, MyDrives advances our HR department professionally. We are now even more visible within DSV as a positively engaged department—not just as the team that appears when layoffs occur or performance issues arise.”
Think-Feel-Do Triangle
Walter: “DSV frequently acquires other organizations within the same industry. Past examples include UTi Worldwide Inc., Panalpina, and, on a more local Dutch level and further back, logistics company Frans Maas. Soon, a large German company will also join us. German companies generally have a different culture than Danish or Dutch ones, so it is interesting to see how the personalities of new employees align with our existing staff. At DSV, we are doers, hands-on people, as reflected in the think-feel-do triangle used by MyDrives. This triangle provides a clear overview of predominantly analytical, collaborative, and action-oriented personalities. I’m curious to see what our future colleagues will contribute to our hands-on culture.”

Not Too Personal
Walter: “MyDrives also improves our communication and performance because the tone of voice in the color reports makes it easy to start a conversation. For example: ‘You prefer a holistic approach’ sounds much more positive than ‘You are a bit of a dreamer’ when speaking with an employee with a predominantly turquoise driver. In other words, MyDrives allows for constructive conversations without being too personal. Furthermore, MyDrives naturally establishes a shared color language in a relaxed way.”
Serious Fun
Walter: “This is partly because the interactive MyDrives workshops include both a theoretical and practical component, with games that support the theory. Overall, MyDrives can be described as ‘serious fun.’ This combination appeals not only to me as an HR director, which is evident from the continuous requests within DSV to start using MyDrives.”
