Coaching: Deep Insights for Outplacement and Career Development
With MyDrives, ITZU and Hura uncover the core motivations of individuals, teams, and organizations.
ITZU is an international HR service provider with roots in Belgium and a growing presence in the Netherlands. Tom Janssen is COO of the Talent Solutions division, which focuses on organizational and HR challenges, assessment and development centers, and training and coaching for a wide range of candidates and clients in Belgium and the Netherlands. Hura represents the group’s outplacement and career management activities.
Three-Day MyDrives Certification
Tom: “ITZU has a total of 1,200 employees, 60 of whom work in Talent Solutions. Together with nine colleagues, I successfully completed the three-day MyDrives certification. From now on, we can call ourselves MyDrives consultants and apply the MyDrives tool in practice. One part of the certification focused on the application of MyDrives in coaching: providing deep insights for outplacement and career development. Both our ITZU and Hura coaches are highly skilled and experienced in guiding individuals in various areas: career orientation, competency development, and leadership coaching. With the MyDrives training, we wanted to equip our coaches with additional tools to reach the core of what drives people during the guidance process – why they do the things they do in a way that is characteristic of them.”
Iceberg Model and Seven-Color Theory
Tom: “To explore this question, MyDrives uses the so-called iceberg model, which illustrates how each person’s personality is structured. The visible tip of the iceberg represents your behavior, while hidden drivers lie below the surface. These drivers shape your visible behavior.”
Marc Stijfs, founder of the MyDrives MyHabits MyMatch methodology, adds: “During the certification, participants were also immersed in the seven-color theory underlying MyDrives. This helps them understand the essence: knowing yourself and others better to achieve higher performance together. For example, someone with a predominantly red driver is decisive, while someone with a mainly blue driver values structure, and so on.”

Who Sees Through Which Colored Lens?
Marc: “The explanation of the iceberg model and the seven-color theory is part of the theoretical section of MyDrives. This is always followed by practical exercises.”
Tom: “One exercise I remember fondly involved the colored glasses. It playfully shows which ‘lens’ you look through as an individual and which lens others use. This gives immediate insight into someone’s resulting behavior.”
Marc: “For a certified MyDrives consultant, it’s particularly important to have a clear understanding of all color profiles and to explain them positively, independent of your own profile. Using the seven-color theory, you can also predict leadership qualities and conduct successful coaching conversations.”

High-Quality Application of the MyDrives Tool
Marc: “The MyDrives certification always ends with an exam, ensuring our consultants apply the tool at a high standard. Additionally, consultants receive a feedback form to suggest ways the MyDrives team could further improve the certification.”
Tom: “Overall, MyDrives has proven its value to our organization. Both theoretical and practical aspects of the training were extremely successful. Another great point: before the three-day certification even ended, a client contacted ITZU asking for additional personal insight regarding a candidate. We were able to respond immediately! Two more important details: the explanatory texts in the MyDrives tool are clear and accessible, as are the illustrations and overall design that make MyDrives unique.”
